Dr. Hinson holds a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry after several years of required advanced training and continuing education. He is currently one of only twelve dentists in the history of the state of Arkansas with this distinction. In his 40th year of practice, he has completed the core curriculum with the Peter Dawson Center for Dentistry and Occlusion and is a member of the Academy of Reconstructive and Cosmetic Dentistry, the International College of Dentists, the American Dental Assocation and the Arkansas State Dental Association. He has recently served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the AR State Dental Association and is very active in organized dentistry helping with mission projects to serve the needs of many less fortunate Arkansans.
He believes strongly in continuing education and has completed over 200 hours of advanced dental education in the past 48 months. He serves as a guest lecturer and adjunct faculty at the University of Arkansas Medical Center for Dental Education and serves as the treasurer of the Arkansas Dental Political Action Committee. Dr. Hinson received the honor of being named the most outstanding graduate at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Children's Dentistry and in Crown and Bridge Dentistry in June of 1983.
Married to Marsha Kilburn Hinson, he has two children: Alex, 31 and Katherine Grace, 26. Alex is married to Hannah Williams of Woodbine MD and is currently working in the Washington, D.C. area as a political consultant. Katherine her master's degree in education at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and is working for a nationwide pre-school curriculum company.
